Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions buyers and sellers ask most. Can't find yours? Contact support.

For Buyers

How do I get started buying on LocalEatz?

Simply create a free account, browse local producers in your area, and start connecting with sellers. You can message them directly to arrange purchases.

How do I pay for orders?

You can pay by cash when you pick up your order, by bank transfer, or by card — whichever the seller accepts. Not every seller offers every method, so you will see what is available for your cart at checkout.

What delivery options are available?

Delivery options vary by seller. Many offer free pickup from their farm or kitchen, local delivery, or shipping. If a seller charges a delivery or shipping fee, it is calculated per seller and shown clearly at checkout before you pay — and some sellers offer free shipping over a certain order amount.

How do I know the products are fresh and quality?

All sellers on LocalEatz are verified local producers. You can read reviews from other buyers, check seller ratings, and message sellers directly about freshness and quality.

What if I have issues with my order?

Our support team is here to help. Open a support ticket from the Support page in your account menu if you have any issues with orders, payments, or sellers — we reply on the ticket and by email.

For Sellers

How do I start selling on LocalEatz?

Begin by creating a seller account, complete your business verification, add your products with detailed descriptions and photos, then start connecting with local buyers in your area.

What are the requirements to become a seller?

You need to be a legitimate New Zealand food producer, have proper food safety certifications if required, and complete our verification process. We welcome farmers, bakers, preservers, and other local food producers.

What fees does LocalEatz charge?

Starting is free: the Free plan lets you list products with no upfront costs. Cash and bank-transfer sales carry no commission — you keep the full amount. Card orders carry a small payment-processing commission that covers card-processing costs; offering card is optional, and the current rate is published on the Pricing page. Optional paid plans — Pro and Max — unlock more products, images, seller profiles, and team members. See the Pricing page for current plan prices, limits, and fees.

How and when do I get paid?

Buyers pay you directly — cash when they pick up, or bank transfer to your account. If you enable card payments, those orders are processed by Stripe and paid out to you through Stripe Connect.

What support is available for sellers?

Our support team is here to help with verification, orders, payments, and anything technical — open a support ticket from the Support page in your account menu and we'll reply on the ticket and by email. These guides and the Pricing page cover the most common questions.

How do delivery and pickup options work?

You can offer customer pickup from your location (always free for buyers), local delivery, or shipping. Set your default shipping rate and an optional free-shipping threshold in your Shipping settings, and override the rate per product where needed — buyers see the exact fee at checkout before they pay.
